Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC/Stepdown position requiring 2 years of experience, WI or Compact RN license, and NIHSS certification.

Details

  • Work in the IMCU (Intermediate Care/Stepdown) unit of a hospital environment
  • Care for cardiac, telemetry, neuro stepdown, and PCU/DOU patients requiring close monitoring
  • Typical patient ratio of 1:3-4
  • Variable shift schedule primarily nights, with possible evening shifts (1500-0300, 0300-1500, or 2300-1100)
  • Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active WI or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted at submission, must be obtained during compliance)
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (NIHSS may be pending at submission but must be completed during compliance)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, blood product administration, and cardiac drip management
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Candidates with latex allergies cannot be accommodated

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring intermediate/stepdown level monitoring
  • Responsibilities include IV insulin protocol management, wound care, isolation precautions, and pre/post cardiac cath and surgery care
  • Passport-style badge photo required within 24 hours of offer acceptance
  • Two supervisor references required after offer acceptance, with one reference from the most recent assignment or permanent position
  • Orientation includes modules averaging 3-4 hours in duration
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
  • Travelers may return to this facility only after a minimum 1-year separation
  • Travel pairs are accepted
