Job Summary Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Nurse in Madison, WI Provides highly skilled patient care within a fast-paced, Level One Trauma Center environment. This position involves caring for acutely ill surgical and trauma adult patients, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Job Details
Shift Time: Nights, 12-hour shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am, Monday through Friday with every other weekend or to meet scheduling needs, including some holidays. Option for 4x12s, Thursday-Sunday if preferred.
Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, at least 2 years of experience in PCU, Stepdown, or IMC, and proficiency with EPIC electronic health records.
Schedule: Nights, 36 hours per week.
Additional Requirements: Must pass telemetry certification exam prior to start; Intensive care experience is preferred.
Responsibilities: Assist acutely ill adult patients, manage telemetry monitoring, perform procedures such as arterial line management, ventilator care, chest tubes, IV management, and respond to rapid changes in patient condition.
Certification Requirements: ACLS, BLS.
Submission requirements include pass/fail telemetry testing with strict criteria, including adult and pediatric cardiac rhythm identification, with two attempts allowed.
