Job Summary:
Nursing Professional specializing in Intermediate Care Units in Wausau, Wisconsin. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care on a 36-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with a focus on patients requiring ventilator and tracheostomy management. The role requires adherence to clinical protocols and managing complex patient cases in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Job Details:

  • Location: Wausau, WI
  • Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Schedule: 36 hours per week, every other weekend and holiday
  • Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Minimum of two years of experience in Stepdown, Intermediate, or Progressive Care Unit settings is required, with ICU experience preferred. Prior travel experience is necessary. Have ventilator and trach management experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Float: May float to higher acuity inpatient units, including all in-patient areas, as needed.
  • Additional Information: The unit stabilizes and weans ventilated and trached patients, with conditions including sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, and stroke. Patients are typically managed at a patient ratio of 4:1. Scrub colors are flexible. During flu season, travelers who decline vaccination are required to wear a mask at all times.
