Job Summary:
Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) position available within an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) located in St. Louis, MO. This assignment entails providing specialized inpatient nursing care focusing on postoperative cardiac patients, including post-op coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repairs, thoracotomies, respiratory failure, and chest pain. The role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

- Required Qualifications: Current RN license or licensing eligibility in Missouri; BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association; at least 1 year of inpatient cardiac stepdown experience; located in or willing to obtain licensure in Missouri
- Preferred Qualifications: NIHSS certification, strong teamwork skills, ability to promote a positive unit culture
- Additional Information: Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Maintains professionalism by coordinating with ancillary departments and ensuring patient rights and confidentiality. The role involves significant physical activity including lifting, turning patients, and working in high-risk exposure environments. Flexibility with shifts and the ability to work the entire orientation week are required.
