 Job Title: Travel In-Person Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of HearingLocation: Juneau, AK (in person)School District: Juneau School DistrictAbout Us:Strides Therapy & Educational Services is a leading local provider of contract therapy services dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of students in schools. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team of professionals, working collaboratively to support students' learning and academic growth within educational settings. We are a therapist owned and operated company. Additional Details: This is an in-person position with a highly supportive and collaborative school district that values its team.Travel package and relocation support for candidates interested in moving to the area are available. This role provides a unique travel opportunity to experience and work in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. There is the potential to transition into a traditional role if you enjoy the district and community.Compensation: W2 hourly rate of $63-65A travel stipend can be discussed for candidates who are willing to relocateResponsibilities:Provide direct special education services to students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing in accordance with IEPs.Develop and implement individualized instructional plans that support language, communication, academic achievement, and self-advocacy.Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, interpreters, and related service providers.Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, eligibility meetings, and progress reviews.Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and classroom environments to ensure communication access.Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and complete required reports.Support students in the use of hearing technology and classroom accommodations.Provide consultation and training to school staff regarding strategies for supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and educational planning.Maintain compliance with district policies and federal and state special education regulations.Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in special education, Deaf or Hard of Hearing, or related field.Valid Alaskan Teacher Licensure, along with an endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing TeachingExperience working with school-aged students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing is preferred.Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education procedures.Familiarity with hearing technology, including hearing aids, cochlear implants, and FM/DM systems.Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Experience with American Sign Language (ASL), Total Communication, Listening and Spoken Language, or other communication approaches as appropriate for students.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to pass all required background checks and district onboarding requirements.Benefits:Health Benefits on Day 1 (Medical, Dental, Vision) with 50% employer contribution401k with match and immediate vesting, 100% match for the first 3% and 50% for 4 % and 5% (also a part-time benefit)Up to 40 hours PTO/sick time (also a part-time benefit)AK State Licensure ReimbursementNational Certification StipendProfessional liability insurance (also a part-time benefit)Cancer insurance (also a part-time benefit)Pet insurance (also a part-time benefit)Life insurance (also a part-time benefit)Catastrophe medical (also a part-time benefit)Please see our website here to learn more about us: https://stridesspeechtherapy.comPlease contact Dana Morgan for more information and additional details.
