Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Infusion position requiring 2+ years of oncology experience and 1 year of ambulatory infusion experience.

Details

  • >Work in an outpatient Community Hem/Onc Infusion setting across multiple clinic locations
  • Adult hematology and general medical oncology patient population
  • RN navigator role providing patient education and care coordination
  • 1:4 patient ratio
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Day shift schedule (4x10 hours, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM), Monday-Sunday variable with some weekend commitments
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Rare floating may be required among five clinic locations (Beaverton, NW Portland, Gresham, East Portland, and Tualatin), with location preference considered based on residence

Requirements

  • Active RN license (OR) required
  • BLS certification required
  • Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
  • OCN certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of oncology experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of ambulatory infusion experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with IV therapy, port access/management, and central line care
  • Experience administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, and blood products
  • Skilled in recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies and treatment side effects
  • COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy administration, infusion therapy, and symptom management
  • Deliver patient and family education along with care coordination across the treatment journey
  • Care for patients across a wide range of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and blood-related cancers
  • Manage oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis, tumor lysis syndrome, and extravasation injury
  • Follow isolation precautions, neutropenic precautions, and proper PPE protocols
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mileage radius restriction
  • Returning staff must have a break of 6 or more months before returning as a traveler
  • RTO must be submitted upfront and should not exceed 2 weeks
  • First-time travelers may be considered based on position details
