• Schedule Notes: Holidays and every other weekend are expected; blocked scheduling must be pre-approved

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in New York State
• Psychiatric nursing experience preferred
• At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience required
• Ability to work scheduled holidays and every other weekend
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills
• Willingness to learn charge nurse responsibilities
• Ability to float to a like unit when needed
• Current credentials and onboarding requirements completed as directed

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, therapeutic nursing care to psychiatric and behavioral health patients
• Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Support individualized care plans and maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote positive patient outcomes
• Assist with admissions, assessments, medication-related care, and patient education
• Prepare to step into charge nurse duties with training and support
• Maintain professionalism and follow unit standards, including dress code expectations
• Flex to a similar unit within the facility when needed
