Job Summary
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Inpatient position is located in Palo Alto, California. This role involves providing comprehensive clinical care for adult patients within an inpatient setting, including evaluation, treatment, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The SLP will perform diagnostic assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to address communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, utilizing advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practices.

Job Details

• Shift Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Master's or Doctorate degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program; licensure as an SLP; certification in Basic Life Support; at least 3 years of acute care experience, preferably in a Level 1 trauma center; competency in videofluoroscopic swallow studies; active licensure in the state of California
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in an inpatient adult care setting and participating in interdisciplinary care planning; familiarity with hospital documentation and billing procedures; strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
• Additional Information: Involves direct patient care in adult inpatient units, performing assessments including videofluoroscopic swallow studies, and participating in care conferences and rounds. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in developing and adapting treatment plans based on individual needs, including age, developmental stage, and cultural considerations. The position emphasizes collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care across settings.
