Key Responsibilities of the Echo Tech - Interventional Radiology- Perform technically proficient 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams.
- Coordinate activities with interrelated hospital departments, including scheduling exams and arranging patient transport.
- Assist cardiologist by preparing and measuring M-modes during examinations.
- Deliver, pick up, and distribute dictations timely.
- Respond to patient needs during exams and report changes to physicians or nurses in charge.
- Order Echo supplies and maintain cleanliness and readiness of equipment.
- Participate in Performance Improvement activities across various hospital levels.
- Provide on-call coverage for echo emergency exams as required by department policy.
- Maintain quality control of equipment operations and examination quality.
- Stay updated on advances in Echocardiography and seek guidance for skill and knowledge enhancement.
- Assist with other cardiac procedures as needed.
Requirements of the Echo Tech - Interventional Radiology- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a patient care related two-year allied health education program.
- A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or eligible registration, or comparable national accreditation required.
- State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License.
- BLS certification issued through the American Heart Association.
- Two years of experience in echocardiograms preferred.
