Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: IR Technologist Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4 x 10 hours Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Certified Radiologic Technologist - ARRT (R) Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS Must-Have: Cath Lab experience is highly preferred. Description: The position involves working in an Interventional Radiology unit. The incumbent will perform various imaging studies and interventional procedures. Common tasks include ports, central venous catheter placements, embolizations, thrombectomies, and Y-90 treatments. The average number of scans/studies performed daily ranges from 2 to 8. The department uses PACS for image storage and retrieval. The role may require floating to other areas when necessary. A lead tech oversees the workflow, with a reporting structure to the Nurse Manager. There are no Registered Radiology Assistants in the facility. Radiologists are present onsite. The position does not require starting IVs. Shift scheduling is fixed with no self-scheduling option. Call requirements include approximately 4-5 weeknights per month and about one weekend per month. The response time for call is 30 minutes. Hospital blue scrubs are provided for this role. Cancellation policy allows for hospital-initiated cancellations of up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment. The charting system utilized in the department is EPIC.
