Job Title: Interventional Vascular Specialist II Profession: Rad Tech Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: AM Hours per Shift: 10 Hours Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience License: Required ARRT-R (with VI or CV credential) or RCIS Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Experience in an Interventional Vascular role - Intermediate knowledge of x-ray equipment and troubleshooting - Ability to assist with complex procedures Description: The Interventional Vascular Specialist II precepts new staff and students. They should have intermediate knowledge of x-ray equipment and troubleshooting. Job duties include assisting in advanced procedures such as pulmonary thrombectomy, AAA, TEVAR, and FEVAR. They will assist with complex procedures, including multiple wire exchanges and the use of long wires and OTW balloons. The specialist should be able to use specialty devices such as laser, penumbra, Inari, and shockwave. This role involves circulating, monitoring, and scrubbing all Interventional Vascular procedures. They will troubleshoot imaging equipment, collaborating with biomedical engineers for service. Participation in procedural charging and maintaining supply management is required. The specialist should be able to act quickly in emergency situations. They must discuss the plan of action with the physician and assist with any high-risk procedures. Cross-training as needed to support departmental needs is important. They will understand and work with the x-ray system, including panning table and recognizing different angles. Managing access sites, including the proper removal of sheaths, assessment of hematomas, and knowledge of hematoma management is essential. Knowledge of radiation safety concepts is necessary. The specialist should be knowledgeable in vascular anatomy and recognizing different types of lesions. Basic knowledge of supply features and applications to procedures is required. Knowledge and adherence to sterile technique is critical. Effective communication with the team, patients, families, and medical staff is essential.
