Job Title: Special Procedures Tech Profession: Radiology Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:30-17:00) Experience: 2+ years License: ARRT (R) Certifications: BLS from AHA only Must-Have Skills/Experience: ARRT Certification Minimum of two years of Interventional Radiology experience Description: The Special Procedures Technologist should be proficient in performing diagnostic and invasive procedures of various anatomy and pathology. They will support the care team during procedures, including scrub assistance, recording images, and properly operating essential patient care equipment. The technologist will consistently operate imaging equipment to produce optimal quality examinations while adhering to prescribed radiation safety practices. They will correctly administer contrast materials for patient exams and review medication reconciliation forms for potential contraindications prior to administration of any contrast. The role requires locating and properly operating essential patient care equipment. The technologist will consistently observe patients before, during, and after procedures. They must utilize appropriate immobilization and patient transfer devices. Other duties will be assigned as needed. The work environment includes four Interventional Radiology suites with a patient ratio of 1:1. Types of patients encountered include oncology, dialysis, neurology, and pulmonary embolism cases. Green surgical scrubs will be provided daily and must remain within facility guidelines. Unacceptable attire includes torn clothes and open-toed shoes. Patient satisfaction and safety are prioritized in this role. Qualified candidates will have a strong commitment to high-quality care and a personal patient experience.
