Travel Interventional Radiology (IR) - $3,074 per week in Salt Lake City, UT

Job Title: Angiographer Profession: Angiographer Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 1 year of vascular or interventional experience License: State Rad Tech License Certifications: ARRT registration, Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) Must-Have: Vascular or interventional experience Description: Ensures proper patient identification and order verification. Prepares the patient for the exam. Prepares patients for the exam using appropriate body mechanics. Identifies proper exams based on patient needs and utilizes correct exam techniques. Produces quality images through the appropriate operation of equipment and instrumentation. Follows proper patient identification protocols. Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, including timestamps and image storage. Maintains the work area and stocks needed supplies. Transports patients as needed. Develops specific knowledge regarding invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies, appropriate indications and applications, and proper use and deployment techniques. At the end of the procedure, may apply closure devices, suture the sheath in place, or remove the sheath and apply pressure to obtain hemostasis. Understands and applies principles of x-ray generation and safety. Understands and demonstrates the correct operation of imaging equipment. Provides patient education as needed and assures patient comfort. Provides procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech, according to lab policies and procedures. Ongoing need for the employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment, and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors require verbal communication and the ability to hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers is required to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. Expected to lift and utilize a full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, including items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Need to walk and assist with transporting patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing and pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms full of equipment and power cords on the floor. May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period. A personal radiation monitoring badge is required for this assignment. Providers are encouraged to use an existing badge from a previous employer or assignment when available. If a new badge is issued, prior exposure history will not be reflected.
