8a-430p, 5x8s, Weekends would be call only
We are a small community hospital seeing less than 20 patients a day with a mixture of inpatients and outpatients. We typically staff 2-3 techs and 3-4 RNs per shift.
Nurse to Patient Ratio if applicable: 2/1:1
Unit Size/Beds: IR: two rooms, three holding bays; Hospital: 148 beds
Cases seen: Thoracentesis, paracentesis, line placements, LPs, biopsies, drain placements, some dialysis work, GI bleeds, UAEs, port placements, G-tube placements/replacements, nephrostomy tube placements/replacements, chole tube placements/replacements.
Years of Exp preferred: 1 year or more
Certifications required: (Example: ACLS, ONC, PALS Etc.) BLS
Specific skills expected: Ability to set up tables and scrub with physicians. Ability to use Epic to look up patients.
Specific machine knowledge: Siemens Artis Zee, GE Ultrasounds
Techs are mostly affected by call in that they may stay late when on call, but it is not often they are actually called in overnight/weekends. Holidays are also only call; the department itself is not open. Call hours are any time outside of the department being open.
