Job Title: Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4x10.0 Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Two (2) years experience required License: Technician License (NY ONLY) required Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) required; AART required Must-Have: Neurosurgery/Neuroscience experience required Description: The Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist must have experience in Neurosurgery or Neuroscience. Work hours are four 10-hour shifts during the day. Weekend, holiday, on-call, and callback duties are required based on unit needs. The role may involve call 1-2 times per week and 1-2 weekends of call per month. Candidates should preferably have prior interventional radiology experience. New hires may receive training for up to six months if coming from other modalities. Primary duties include selecting exposure factors and positioning to produce images of diagnostic quality. Cooperation with all department members is essential to resolve problems efficiently. A compassionate, respectful, and accountable demeanor is expected when interacting with customers. Demonstrating awareness of patient rights is crucial in all patient interactions. The role includes administering oral contrast as needed and preparing patients for examinations. Assist the radiologist during procedures and demonstrate proficiency in operating x-ray equipment, CR, and DR systems. Report equipment malfunctions to the manager or lead. Complete all assigned procedures in a timely manner while assisting others and performing clerical duties as needed. Maintain medication security and understand responsibilities regarding patient care delivery across all age groups. Competency in interpersonal relationships with patients of all age groups is required. Demonstrate proficiency in using the Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS. Participate in performance improvement activities when warranted. Confidentiality must be maintained using personal passwords for patient care modules. Answer technical inquiries from physicians or hospital personnel while maintaining good phone etiquette.
