Job Title: Interventional Technologist I Profession: Interventional Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: N/A License: ARRT (RT) Required Certifications: BLS / ACLS required Must-Have: - Demonstrates knowledge and skill in applying principles of medical imaging, positioning of patients, and medical ethics. - Applies core knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology associated with specialty imaging procedures. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and patient populations served. - Ability to prioritize and complete clinical or non-clinical work assignments. - Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations. - Ability to work as part of a diverse team and communicate effectively with others. - Displays consistency and dependability by reporting to work as scheduled. - Ability to be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs. Description: The Interventional Technologist I assists Physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor, and treat conditions, defects, and diseases without surgery. This position is intended for those gaining experience in Interventional Radiology or Invasive Cardiology or experienced Imaging professionals wishing to begin a career in the discipline. The role involves assisting Providers in performing a variety of minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, angiography, device implantation, biopsies, and pain management. Utilizes specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform diverse diagnostic, interventional, and invasive procedures. Ensures procedures are performed safely and with high-quality standards, maintaining a consistent focus on patient care. Assists in preparing patients for procedures and providing comfort. Acts as a scrub tech while assisting Providers during procedures. Maintains a strict sterile field adhering to safety protocols. Responds to inquiries from patients and family members, providing clear information regarding diagnostic testing and expected result timelines. Collaborates with team members to provide exceptional patient care. Conducts post-testing quality reviews to confirm all required elements are completed, documented, and align with departmental and accreditation standards. Transfers images and data to the appropriate electronic health system and prepares study for reporting by the physician. Performs quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting, and other equipment maintenance tasks per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines. Assists with quality assurance, audits, and performance improvement tasks as requested. Provides on-call clinical coverage outside regularly scheduled duty hours on weekdays, weekends, and holidays as assigned. May support academic partnerships by engaging in teaching of students in radiologic programs. May serve as a departmental preceptor to provide instruction and mentorship to new or less experienced team members. Assists with onboarding of new team members. Performs other duties as assigned.
