Job Title: Interventional Technologist I Profession: Clinical Technicians Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: ARRT (RT) Required Certifications: BLS / ACLS required Must-Have: - Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. - ARRT (RT), RCES, or RCIS certification required within 18 months of hire. Description: The Interventional Technologist I assists Physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor, and treat simple to complex conditions, defects, and diseases without surgery. This position is intended for those who are gaining experience in Interventional Radiology or Invasive Cardiology or are experienced Imaging professionals who wish to begin a career in the discipline. The role involves assisting Providers in performing a variety of image-guided procedures including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, angiography, device implantation, biopsies, thrombectomy, embolization, and pain management. Utilizes specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic and interventional procedures. Ensures procedures are performed safely and adhere to quality standards, maintaining a consistent focus on patient care. Assists in preparing patients for procedures and providing comfort. Acts as a scrub tech while assisting Providers during procedures. Maintains a strict sterile field adhering to safety protocols. Responds to inquiries from patients and family members, providing clear information regarding diagnostic testing and expected result timelines. Collaborates with team members to ensure exceptional patient care. Conducts post-testing quality reviews to confirm that all required elements are completed, documented, and align with departmental and accreditation standards. Transfers images and data to the appropriate electronic health system, enters technical data or findings, and prepares studies for reporting by Physicians. Performs quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting, and other equipment maintenance tasks per manufacturer instructions for use and regulatory guidelines. Assists with quality assurance, audits, and performance improvement tasks as requested. Provides on-call clinical coverage outside regularly scheduled duty hours on weekdays, weekends, and holidays as assigned. May support academic partnerships by actively engaging in teaching students in the radiologic program. May serve as a departmental preceptor to provide instruction and mentorship to new or less experienced team members. Assists with onboarding of new team members. Performs other duties as assigned.
