The procedures are conducted for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols. The technologist performs high-quality interventional radiology procedures in a timely manner. They maintain production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures. The technologist utilizes effective communication techniques to identify patient service requirements and ensure correct examinations are performed on the correct patients. They instruct and communicate with patients and their families regarding the tests to be performed. The technologist assesses the patient's ability to tolerate exams. They prepare the patient and the area for procedures by positioning patients, adjusting immobilization devices, and moving equipment into specified positions. The technologist protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug, and radiation policies. They use proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive multimodality procedures. The technologist maintains equipment and work areas to meet quality and cleanliness standards. They work with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of the equipment. If issues arise, the technologist reports them to management or the appropriate department. They assist in maintaining supplies inventory. The technologist ensures individuals are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures. They obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation, including requisition/chart and patient history, among others. The technologist maintains medical imaging records in the appropriate system according to department policies and standards. They are responsible for performing high-quality interventional radiology procedures according to exam protocols. The technologist must explain procedures and help ease patient concerns. They provide services in a timely, accurate, and cost-efficient manner while complying with established standards and policies. The technologist performs tasks independently without routine oversight. They maintain a calm and helpful attitude, even under stress. The technologist takes appropriate and reasonable steps to resolve issues. They should have the ability to effectively administer first aid and use emergency equipment. Customer satisfaction is ensured by limiting wait times, providing courteous service, and remaining professional. The technologist develops action plans when required based on patient satisfaction scores. They must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills appropriate for various age groups. The technologist is expected to serve as a preceptor by providing quality training to new team members. They must be available to take call when required.
