Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: IR Technologist Specialty: IR/Vascular Tech Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 10 Hours Hours per Shift: 4 - 10 Hour Days, Rotating Day Off, Will Consider 5 - 8 Hour Shifts Experience: Minimum of 2 Years in Interventional Radiology License: Valid State License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ARRT Must-Have: 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience. Specific experience may vary based on roles within the unit. Description: The position involves preparation of procedure suites and ensuring radiation safety setup. You will need to calibrate and troubleshoot fluoroscopy and hemodynamics monitoring equipment. Responsibilities include pulling supplies and setting up a sterile table. You will scrub in and assist physicians with procedures such as device exchange and guidewire manipulation. Duties also include catheter placement, balloon and stent deployment, and managing radiation dose and imaging angles. Cleaning, restocking, and room turnover are essential parts of the role. The work environment includes seven procedure rooms, with the average number of cases being over 20 per day across all rooms. Common diagnoses and procedures involve port placements, liver biopsies, and various vascular interventions. Team dynamics typically consist of an RN and two techs for procedures in the Interventional Radiology unit. Anesthesia support is available for neuro cases. You will participate in call rotations, including approximate weekday and weekend call requirements. The position may require floating to hybrid vascular cases based on staffing needs. Provided scrubs are available, and personal scrub caps can be worn. Onboarding includes training and shadowing prior to independent call responsibilities. This position may require adherence to additional requirements related to specific circumstances.
