Job Title: Senior Special Procedure Tech Profession: Technologist Specialty: Interventional Duration: 14 weeks Shift: 0x4 days Hours per Shift: 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM (weekdays only) Experience: 3 years of relevant experience License: Associate's Degree in Interventional Radiology or equivalent Certifications: BLS, ARRT - VI or CV Must-Have: Must have expertise in all areas performed within the department Description: Under limited supervision, the Senior Special Procedure Tech provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing heart and vascular procedures to assist physicians. The incumbent delivers quality patient and family-centered care. The position may require performing IV starts, prepping patients, monitoring hemodynamics, operating equipment, documenting procedures, managing vascular access sites, and providing patient and family education. Essential Functions: Monitor patients undergoing routine invasive and interventional procedures. Provide intra-procedural technical support while maintaining quality patient and family-centered care. May be required to perform and record hemodynamic and physiologic waveforms and calculations. Communicate effectively with co-workers, physicians, patients, families, and all ancillary departments while consistently demonstrating professional standards. Perform quality assurance checks on technical equipment. Conduct department skills validations. Maintain radiation safety standards in compliance with relevant safety protocols. Participate in on-call duties as scheduled by the department. May be required to provide training to less experienced staff. Techs must be able to assist physicians using sterile technique and participate in image post processing, cross-modality imaging, and advanced procedures as required by the site. Qualifications: Associate's Degree or equivalent in cardiovascular technology, basic science, paramedic, or exercise physiology is required. A minimum of three years of interventional experience is required. Employees must be experts in the clinical skills specific to their department and able to train others. If the department includes various specialties, the employee must be proficient in all areas performed. Required certifications upon hire include CRT-Cardiovascular from ARRT, CRT-Vascular Interventional Radiography from ARRT, CRT-Radiographer from ARRT, CRT-Reg Card Elect Specialist from CCINT'L, CRT-Reg Card Inter Specialist from CCINT'L, CRT-Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support from AHA, and Basic Life Support from AHA or ARC.
