Job Title: Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist Profession: Tech Specialty: Neurointerventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Client license as Radiologic Technologist Certifications: ARRT(R), BLS Certification Must-Have: - Neurointerventional experience Description: The Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the direction of a physician in neurointerventional services. These procedures include extra-cranial and intracranial angiography, vertebroplasty, spinal injections, myelograms, cisternograms, embolizations, cryoablation, coilings, and clot retrievals. Customers served include employees, medical staff, patients, and regulatory agencies. Priority will be given to activities that directly affect customer service. The technologist provides technical support for all neurointerventional procedures, including discograms, aspirations, therapeutic injections, angiography, and ablations. They also provide technical support and clinical assistance for neurointerventional procedures, including tumor, epistaxis, and spinal lesion embolization. The technologist operates required advanced imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols for patient procedures. They ensure that proper safety standards are met and that radiation safety practices are adhered to. They instruct students and residents and perform preceptor duties when necessary. Quality assurance checks on equipment are performed regularly. The technologist assists in maintaining supply inventory for all procedures. They utilize information systems for scheduling and review coding procedures for accurate billing. Continuous learning through lectures, seminars, and educational readings is encouraged. The technologist adheres to appropriate clinical principles, methods, and procedures while performing or supervising all diagnostic procedures. Confidentiality of patients and hospital information is maintained according to policy. They comply with all policies and procedures related to incident reporting. Other related duties may be performed as required.
