Job Title: Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist Profession: Tech Specialty: Neurointerventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Client License as Radiologic Technologist Certifications: ARRT(R), BLS Certification Must-Have: Neurointerventional radiology experience Description: The Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the direction of a physician. This includes extracranial and intracranial angiography, vertebroplasty, other spinal injections, myelograms, cisternograms, embolizations, cryoablations, coilings, and clot retrievals. Customers served include employees, medical staff, patients, and regulatory agencies. Priority will be given to activities that directly affect customer service. The technologist provides technical support for all interventional and neurointerventional procedures. This includes discograms, aspirations, therapeutic injections, angiography, and ablations. The role also includes providing technical support and clinical assistance, both sterile and non-sterile, of neurointerventional procedures. These procedures include tumor embolization, epistaxis, and spinal lesions. The technologist operates required advanced imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols. Ensuring proper safety standards are met is essential, and adherence to radiation safety practices is required. The position involves instructing students and residents, as well as performing preceptor duties when necessary. Quality assurance checks on equipment are to be performed. Assistance in maintaining supply inventory for all interventional procedures is required. Utilization of information systems including scheduling online is necessary. Reviewing coding procedures for accurate billing of all interventional and neurointerventional procedures is part of the role. Continuous learning of new techniques and technology is encouraged through attending lectures, seminars, and educational readings. Adherence to accepted clinical principles, methods, and procedures while performing or supervising procedures is mandatory. Confidentiality of patients and hospital information must be maintained. Compliance with all hospital policies and procedures related to incident reporting is required. Other related duties may be performed as needed.
