Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology RN for a Days shift assignment requiring MO or compact RN licensure and prior IR experience.

Details

• Work in the Interventional Radiology department of a hospital with 1 IR angiosuite and 5 IR holding area beds
• Patient population includes invasive and non-invasive procedures in IR suite, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, and Diagnostic Imaging
• 1:1 patient ratio in Imaging
• Uses Nihonkohden patient monitors
• EMR is Cerner, transitioning to Epic in October 2024
• Days shift, 5x8 schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend hours as needed
• On-call required on a rotating basis
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• ARNA certification preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of recent IR nursing experience required
• Critical care nursing background preferred, with ability to perform well under pressure
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required November 1-April 1

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in the Imaging department including monitoring vital signs and maintaining IV lines
• Administer medications under physician direction and assist with various imaging procedures
• Act as liaison between the Imaging department and patient care division, ensuring proper documentation and communication of patient status changes
• Maintain emergency equipment, supplies, and crash cart drug inventory for the Imaging department
• Surgical scrubs provided for procedure area; street clothes not acceptable
• Up to 5 days of RTO allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Accepts local candidates, though local bill rate is reduced
• Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year break or transfer to a facility outside the radius
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• First-time travelers may be considered
