Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 36 hours per week | 9-hour shifts, Monday–Friday (0730–1700) with one weekday off per week | Occasional Saturday (1–2 per month); possible holiday requirement

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-procedural and post-procedural nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures including body IR cases such as chemo embolization, Y-90, GJ tube placements, IVC filters, vascular access, angiograms, CT biopsies, ablations, ultrasound biopsies, thoracentesis, and paracentesis
  • Manage pre-operative preparation and post-anesthesia recovery for patients receiving conscious sedation and general anesthesia
  • Monitor and care for outpatient and inpatient populations including critical care and telemetry patients across 5 angio rooms, 2 CT scanners, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine suites
  • Operate and document within a Cerner EMR environment
  • Collaborate with IR techs, CT techs, nuclear medicine techs, ultrasound techs, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and in-house hospitalist or intensivist teams
  • Perform and maintain competency in sterile field procedures including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes as required during facility orientation

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Neuro IR experience required
  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • IR RN background required; ICU RN candidates with documented IR experience will be considered
  • Pre-op and/or PACU experience or ICU experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to assignment acceptance (two attempts permitted)

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • PALS certification preferred
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring and ventilator management
  • Familiarity with Cerner EMR
  • Charge nurse experience a plus
