Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring Epic and stroke thrombectomy experience.

Details

  • Work in the Interventional Radiology unit of a hospital setting
  • Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
  • Unit consists of 4 procedure rooms with an average daily census of 25
  • Utilizes Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication systems
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Required to work every third weekend, no more than 2 per month
  • Floating required within the facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Call responsibilities required and rotated among the team
  • Scrubs provided by the facility

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology RN experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Stroke thrombectomy experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Experience with vascular procedures including angioplasty, carotid stenting, and upper/lower extremity angiography
  • Skilled in sheath removal/monitoring, vascular closure systems, and radiation/laser safety
  • Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
  • Proficiency in central line assistance, PICC line care, and implanted port maintenance

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care in interventional radiology procedures including pre/post procedure monitoring
  • Perform vascular studies and assist with angioplasty, carotid stenting, and angiography procedures
  • Monitor patients using End-Tidal CO2 monitoring and Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale
  • Administer medications including antiarrhythmics, IV vasopressors, antihypertensives, and reversal agents
  • Circulate procedures and manage vascular access devices
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized prior to submission
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, and Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Former Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position
