Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Interventional Radiology RN with OR licensure and IR/Cath/GI procedural experience to support a fast-paced IR department requiring call coverage.

Details

• Work within the Interventional Radiology department of a Level I Trauma teaching hospital
• Multidisciplinary care team includes RNs, IR Technologists, and Interventionalists
• Department operates Monday through Friday for routine and emergent cases, with 7-day on-call coverage for after-hours cases
• Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 0700-1730
• Call is required, including weekends and after-hours, with a 30-minute response time expectation
• Candidates may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit needs
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active Oregon RN license required
• Active OR (operating room) RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA Traditional accepted, RQI not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Critical Care, PACU, ED, or Procedural experience required
• IR and Critical Care experience required
• IR/Cath/GI procedural experience required; IR experience including body and neuro procedures preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level I hospital experience required
• 8 hours of annual stroke education required
• Skills in monitoring procedural sedation, medications, IV therapy, and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Ventilator management skills preferred
• Experience with EVD and EKOS preferred
• Ability to tolerate continuous movement throughout shift and ride the Aerial tram as needed
• Must be able to work independently and manage frequently changing assignments

• Provide direct patient care during interventional radiology procedures in collaboration with physicians and technologists
• Communicate directly and confidently with physicians throughout the shift
• Navigate complex patient care coordination independently while managing competing priorities
• Serve as a role model supporting the hospital's vision and mission
• Charge RN experience in ICU, PACU, or ED settings is a plus
• Experience with radiation safety and fluoroscopy is preferred
• Knowledge of IR procedures for GIB, stroke, and trauma cases is preferred
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• Returning staff must have a break of at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
• RTO must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed 2 weeks
• First-time travelers may be considered based on experience level
• COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted
