Job Summary
Interventional Radiology (IR) Nurse - San Francisco, California. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for patients undergoing imaging procedures, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology interventions. The position requires the ability to support patients through IV placement, preparation for procedures, moderate sedation, monitoring, and recovery, with opportunities to float to other facilities within the healthcare provider network.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, BSN, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, minimum of 2 years of radiology experience, adult acute care experience, diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology experience, procedural sedation, pacemaker interrogation.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in ICU, Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), or procedural areas; radiology imaging nursing certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Additional Information: The RN will provide care for patients of all ages across multiple diagnoses, supporting imaging services including IV support, moderate sedation, and post-procedure recovery. Ability to wear lead aprons and enter MRI environments as needed is required. Resources may be reassigned during the assignment to different units or facilities within a 75+ mile radius, and all RTO requests require manager approval at the time of offer.
  • Certifications: All required certifications must be in hand at submission, including CA RN license, BSN, AHA BLS, and ACLS.
  • Start Date: 09/01/2026. Orientation registration is scheduled for 4:00 PM Pacific Standard Time on the Monday prior to the start date.
  • Travel and Staffing: Prior charge experience and references from the most recent employer are required. Candidates must have at least 2 years of relevant experience. All employment history with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be included for rehire eligibility. References from the most recent employer are needed at submission.
