Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of experience and RCIS certification to support cardiac and vascular interventional procedures.

Details

  • Work in the Interventional Radiology unit performing a wide range of cardiac, vascular, and neurological procedures
  • Day shift schedule of 4x10 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Weekend coverage required
  • On-call requirement of 14-15 days within a 6-week period, covering weekday evenings from 5:30 PM to 7:00 AM and weekends from 5:30 PM Friday to 7:00 AM Monday on a rotating basis
  • No floating to sister facilities or other units outside of scope
  • Charting system experience required

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an IR Tech required
  • ACLS, BLS, and ARRT-R certifications required
  • RCIS certification required
  • License required if applicable
  • Prior travel experience required, with strong preference for experienced Cath Tech or RCIS professionals
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with procedures including angioplasty, IVC filter placement, carotid stenting, TIPS, dialysis graft interventions, EP studies, cardiac cath lab procedures (PCI, PTCA, left/right heart catheterization), renal and ureteral stent placement, and neurological thrombectomy/thrombolysis
  • Skilled in EKG lead placement, hemodynamic monitoring, IV starts, and peripheral/venous access

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring, room circulation, and supporting a variety of vascular, cardiac, EP, genitourinary, and neurological interventional procedures
  • Should expect to work some holidays as part of the schedule
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Only one RTO request permitted during the assignment
  • Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are generally not accepted, though exceptions may be considered
  • Travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days after 1 year before returning to the same facility as a traveler
  • Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
