Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Interventional Radiology Rad Tech with experience in Neurosurgery or Neuroscience. The ideal candidate will possess interventional radiology experience, though we provide training for those coming from other modalities.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning to produce diagnostic quality radiologic images.
- Works collaboratively with department members to resolve issues efficiently.
- Displays flexibility, team spirit, respect, and accountability when interacting with customers.
- Administers oral contrast as needed per exam, prepares patients for examinations, and assists the Radiologist during procedures.
- Operates all x-ray equipment, CR and DR systems competently and reports equipment malfunctions.
- Completes procedures timely and assists with clerical duties, stocking, and transporting between procedures.
- Maintains medication security, ensuring access is restricted to authorized personnel.
- Demonstrates competency in providing healthcare services to all age groups.
- Participates in performance improvement activities as warranted.
- Answers technical inquiries from physicians or other hospital personnel while maintaining professionalism.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Two (2) years of experience in Interventional Radiology.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- Current Technician License in the state of New York.
- ARRT certification is required; VIR certification is a plus.
- Experience in Neurosurgery/Neuroscience is required.
