Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, requiring ACLS, BLS, and ARRT-R certifications.
Details
- Work in a Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, with familiarity in Electrophysiology (EP) Lab settings a plus
- Adult patient population
- Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM), with a 4x9 hour schedule also considered
- Call required 1-2 nights per week and every 4th weekend
- Uses GE Innova IGS equipment
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience required, with cardiac cath experience preferred
- Current ACLS, BLS, and ARRT-R certifications required
- License required if applicable
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Familiarity with Electrophysiology, Vascular, or Interventional Radiology procedures preferred
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) preferred
- Skilled in equipment setup, EKG lead placement, access site prep, and maintaining a sterile field
- Experience with cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, left and right heart catheterizations, and PCI
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, IABP placement/removal, and Impella insertion preferred
- Experience with PTCA, permanent pacemaker insertion (PPI), and PA line insertion preferred
- Experience with electrophysiology studies, cardioversion, and pacemaker insertion
- Experience with central venous access (non-tunneled/PICC lines) and line care/maintenance preferred
- Experience with central venous access/port placement, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and upper/lower extremity angiography preferred
- Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, infection control, and sterile technique required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Role includes serving as room circulator and scrubbing to maintain sterile field during procedures
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable for the second reference, but coworker references are not accepted
- Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this facility
- Requested time off must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- First-time travelers will be considered if they have 2 years of relevant Cath Lab experience
- Candidates must complete an urgent Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after signing the contract, which may require travel to a fingerprinting location or completion of a mailed fingerprinting packet
