The Registered Nurse – IV Therapy provides and supervises intravenous nursing care to patients of all ages and is a resource for IV-related problems or procedures for the institution.  The Registered Nurse is skilled and knowledgeable in a wide range of IV therapy services, a wide range of general nursing skills as well as skills specific to IV Therapy.

Minimum Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements  
• Must be at least 18 years of age

The RN independently manages adult and pediatric patients receiving a broad range of non-oncology intravenous and injectable therapies, including biologic medications, IVIG, immunotherapies, specialty infusions, hydration, blood products, and other complex treatment regimens. The Medical Infusion RN is responsible for comprehensive nursing assessment, review of treatment plans and required clinical parameters, medication administration, ongoing patient monitoring, management of infusion/injection-related reactions, patient education, care coordination, and accurate clinical documentation. The RN serves as a critical member of the interdisciplinary team and plays an essential role in ensuring safe treatment delivery, timely access to care, effective patient flow, and a positive patient experience. Previous experience with infusion and strong IV placement/management skills required.
