Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and the ability to work in an LDRP setting.

Details

• Level 3 Trauma teaching-affiliated hospital with 241 licensed beds, Certified Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center designation
• Unit includes 8 labor rooms, 3 triage rooms, 1 OR suite, and 1 PACU, averaging 4-6 patients per day
• Patient population includes Labor/Delivery/Postpartum/Newborn care
• RN ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:2 inactive labor, 1:1 active labor, 1:3-4 couplets
• CST staffed at 1 per shift
• 12-hour night shift schedule (1900-0700), 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• Low census call possible, with callback times up to 3a for nights and 3p for days
• Floating required within Region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) as needed within scope of practice
• EMR: Epic
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Fetal Monitor, Philips Newborn Monitor, ultrasound, scales, and ambulation assist devices
• 24/7 charge nurse and respiratory therapy support, hospitalist coverage for newborn care, phlebotomy for peripheral draws, and resource nurse support when available

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, EFM, and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required, with willingness to work LDRP setting
• Skills required include labor management, cesarean section circulation, pre-op and PACU care, triage, newborn resuscitation, Pitocin management, and epidural management
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

• Provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages
• Work within a collaborative, team-oriented unit culture
• Orientation includes NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation on a 6-week schedule cycle
• Holiday coverage expected for 75% of holidays
• Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with any shortfall added to the end of the contract
• Green scrubs provided by the hospital; free parking available
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible for travel rate
• Previous employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position before reapplying
