Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in a Level III Trauma Center in Marinette, WI, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and active WI or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Women's Health and OB Services unit with 8 LDRP/Antepartum beds and an average daily census of 1–3 patients
  • Patient population includes L&D patients >35 weeks, GYN surgeries, antepartum, and postpartum cases
  • Patient ratios: 1:1 for laboring patients; 1:3 for couplets, antepartum, and surgical patients
  • 12-hour day shifts, 0630–1900, 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend rotation required
  • On-call schedule varies based on contract
  • Rotating holiday coverage required
  • May float to inpatient units to serve in a sitter or CNA role
  • EMR: Epic (experience required)
  • IV pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis
  • Fetal heart monitoring (FHM) available at bedside and nurse's station; no telemetry

Requirements

  • Active WI or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and FHM
  • Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
  • Proficiency with NSTs, triage, postpartum and newborn assessments/care, and nursery care
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
  • Candidate must provide date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration
  • Candidate must provide middle name or initial for consideration

Additional Information

  • Level III Trauma Center located in Marinette, WI
  • Department support includes a Charge RN (who takes patients as needed), a Resource RN, RRT, and an OB MD with a 30-minute callback time; RN is responsible for drawing blood
  • Orientation includes facility NEO plus at least one shift to learn unit flow
  • Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved during the contract
  • Any scrub color is acceptable
  • First-time travelers will be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible for this position
  • Local candidates are accepted
