Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Gadsden, Alabama

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse experience
• Active Alabama RN license in good standing with no disqualifying NURSYS alerts
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and complete 36 hours per week
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the assignment location, in accordance with travel nursing assignment requirements
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, patient-care, and teamwork skills

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care
• Use the nursing process to assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Apply critical thinking and sound clinical judgment to anticipate maternal and newborn needs
• Monitor patients and respond promptly to changes in maternal or neonatal condition
• Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe deliveries and positive outcomes
• Delegate appropriately and provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel based on their education and experience
• Maintain clinical competency through continuing education and adherence to nursing standards, facility policies, and the Alabama Nurse Practice Act
