Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Fort Myers, Florida
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,870–$1,970
• Assignment Type: Labor & Delivery travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 6, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks, through February 6, 2027
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Call Requirement: 12 hours during each six-week scheduling period
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:2 to 1:2:1, based on acuity and assignment needs
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic
• Scrub Color: Galaxy Blue and/or white

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Florida
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• Successful completion of the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring and EFM certification preferred
• Demonstrated ability to care for high-acuity obstetric patients
• Degree accreditation documented in the professional profile, or at least 5 years of relevant nursing experience
• Flexibility to float to other units or nearby affiliated locations as needed; travel nurses may be asked to float first
• Ability to meet all documentation requirements before the assignment start date

Labor & Delivery Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and promptly recognize changes in patient acuity
• Apply advanced fetal monitoring knowledge to support safe clinical decision-making
• Collaborate with providers, newborn care teams, and interdisciplinary staff during labor, delivery, and emergency situations
• Manage patient assignments while maintaining safe ratios and a high standard of compassionate care
• Respond effectively to high-acuity cases and changing clinical priorities
• Participate in scheduled call coverage
• Float when required and contribute as a dependable member of the core clinical team
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in Epic
