Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse opportunity in Nashville, Tennessee for an experienced LDRP nurse supporting laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients.

Join a collaborative Labor & Delivery team as a Travel Registered Nurse supporting patients across L&D, LDRP, and Mother Baby. This 13-week travel nursing contract is ideal for an adaptable nurse with recent Labor & Delivery and LDRP experience who is confident caring for laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients. You will work 12-hour night shifts in a supportive setting with an approximately 1:2 patient ratio and the opportunity to care for patients from 32 weeks gestation and above.

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Previous Mother Baby and LDRP experience required
• Active Tennessee RN license or compact multistate RN license at the time of submission
• Current, active license verification and Nursys report
• Current BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP, and S.T.A.B.L.E. certifications
• Current NIH certification
• Current CPI certification; MAB is accepted in lieu of CPI
• Demonstrated competency with fetal monitoring, obstetric triage, C-section circulation, and postpartum care
• Willingness to float between Labor & Delivery and Mother Baby
• Ability to provide respectful, professional care to a diverse patient population, including patients from correctional settings
• COVID-19 and influenza vaccination required, with medical or religious exemptions considered

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients
• Work across Labor & Delivery, LDRP, and Mother Baby assignments as needed
• Perform obstetric triage and assess patients throughout labor and delivery
• Use external fetal monitoring equipment to evaluate fetal well-being and identify changes requiring intervention
• Assist with and circulate for Cesarean-section procedures
• Care for patients delivering at 32 weeks gestation and above
• Provide patient and family education related to labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and discharge planning
• Collaborate with providers, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately and promptly
• Promote a calm, compassionate, and inclusive environment for every patient and family
