Travel L&D RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Texas
• At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• Strong knowledge of fetal monitoring, labor management, and maternal-newborn nursing
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospital environment
• Preferred: Experience with cesarean section operating room circulation
• Preferred: Competency with fetal scalp electrode and intrauterine pressure catheter placement

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring, antepartum, postpartum, and post-cesarean patients
• Perform continuous electronic fetal monitoring and promptly identify changes in maternal or fetal status
• Support vaginal deliveries and provide perioperative nursing care for cesarean sections
• Recover patients in the PACU following delivery-related procedures
• Provide antepartum assessments, testing, education, and ongoing clinical monitoring
• Administer medications and manage infusions according to established protocols, including oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, hydralazine, and labetalol
• Collaborate with obstetric, neonatal, anesthesia, laborist, and hospitalist teams to promote safe patient outcomes
• Assist with or perform placement of fetal scalp electrodes and intrauterine pressure catheters as permitted by policy and competency
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
• Provide patient- and family-centered education and emotional support throughout the childbirth experience
