Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) care. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting families through the labor and delivery process while providing excellent patient care.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 7
• Staffing: 4 night nurses currently on staff
• Patient Ratios: 1:3, variable by census and acuity
• Equipment Used: GE fetal monitors, Panda warmers, IUPC, Kiwi vac., Koala IUPC
• EMR: Epic and CPN connect
• Weekend Requirements: 2 weekends per month, subject to variable staffing needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum stages.
• Perform procedures such as induction, C-Section, vaginal delivery, and more.
• Monitor fetal and maternal well-being using advanced technology and protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure best practices in patient care.
• Participate in on-call rotations as needed.

Qualifications

• Must Have:
  • Current and valid RN license in Alaska
  • Labor and delivery experience
  • OR circulator experience
• Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to perform SVE and place IUPC and FSE
  • Experience as a stork nurse and ability to transition baby at delivery
• Required Certifications:
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or NCC-EFM certification
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Work Environment

This position is located in a unit that adheres to specific protocols, including no elective pre-39 week deliveries and various clinical care guidelines. The unit also supports a Level II NICU with onsite pediatric hospitalists.

Dress Code

Hospital-provided royal blue scrubs are required, and staff will change into their scrubs at the facility.
