Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Work in a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit featuring 17 private suites, 5 triage/PACU beds, 4 ORs, a 3-bed OB ED, and a specialized antepartum unit for high-risk and postpartum care
• Care for patients before, during, and after childbirth
• First shift schedule with 3x12-hour day shifts per week
• 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills required
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including nursing rounds, assessments, treatments, and care coordination
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including patient and family-centered education
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments considering culture, age, and developmental level
• Develop and prioritize individualized care plans in coordination with the interprofessional team
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Promote a positive, healing environment through nursing excellence and evidence-based practice
