Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery role at a Level III Trauma Center requiring WI or compact RN licensure and 2+ years of L&D experience.

Details

• Work in the Women's Health and OB Services unit of a Level III Trauma Center with 64 total beds
• Unit has 8 LDRP/Antepartum beds
• Patient population includes L&D patients over 35 weeks, GYN surgeries, antepartum, and postpartum patients
• Patient ratios of 1:1 for laboring patients and 1:3 for couplets/antepartum/surgical patients
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing
• 12-hour night shift schedule (18:30-07:00), 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• On-call requirements vary based on contract
• Holiday rotation required
• May float to inpatient units in a sitter or CNA role

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS, NRP, and FHM certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
• Experience with NSTs, patient triage, postpartum and newborn assessments/care, and nursery care required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidate's middle name or initial required for consideration
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Support team includes Charge RN, Resource RN, and RRT with OB MD availability and a 30-minute call-back time
• Charge RN draws blood and takes patients as needed
• FHM monitoring is available at bedside and nurse's station, no telemetry
• Orientation includes NEO and at least one shift to learn unit flow
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be approved
• Scrubs may be any color
• Parking available in designated yellow lines in front of the building or near the ED
• First-time travelers considered upon review
• Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must be separated at least 12 months before being eligible for travel assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
