Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 12-hour night shift assignment requiring EPIC charting and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
• Provides care to inpatient obstetric patients including labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
• Participates in intrapartum care for both patient and newborn during labor, delivery, and surgical delivery
• Monitors fetal well-being using fetal monitoring equipment
• Administers medication specific to the obstetric population
• Provides patient education tailored to the obstetric population
• Night shift schedule, 7:30pm-7:00am, 3 shifts per week
• Weekend shifts required
• No holiday shifts required
• No floating requirements specified

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (American Heart Association) required
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Skilled in intrapartum care, fetal monitoring, medication administration, patient education, safety reporting, and documentation

Additional Information

• Serves as primary caregiver for a designated group of obstetric patients, applying the nursing process to plan and adjust care
• Completes initial patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs
• Maintains accurate, up-to-date documentation to support coordinated care across the healthcare team
• Reports and corrects safety hazards to protect patient and staff safety
• Collaborates with peers, offering and receiving constructive feedback for professional development
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not continuously work at this health system for more than 1 year without a required 6-month break in service before returning
