Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery Recovery Postpartum position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and the ability to circulate for C-sections and triage OB patients.

Details

• Work in a 6-bed Labor & Delivery unit with one C-section OR
• Unit averages 100 deliveries monthly, collaborating with OBGYNs and midwives
• Manage laboring patients, circulate and assist in C-sections, and recover both labor and surgical patients
• Night shift schedule: 7:00pm - 7:00am
• 48 hours per week over 4 days per week, with 36/hr contracts also considered
• Block schedule requests will be reviewed
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Every other holiday (EOH) required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and NIHSS
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Five years of L&D experience highly preferred
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of Nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Must be able to circulate for C-sections
• Must be able to triage OB patients
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards while reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required per patient care plan
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate and communicate patient care needs
• Participate in unit goals and performance improvement activities
• Assess and address discharge needs, developmental factors, and cultural/ethnic considerations in patient care planning
