Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring at least one year of recent L&D experience and AWHONN or EFM-C certification.

Details

• 26-bed Delivery Room unit with day and night shift teams including CNC team leads, nurses, surgical techs, and unit clerks
• Patient ratios: 1:1 for high-risk labor and c-sections, 1:2 for antepartum, PPROM, PTL on mag, and PP on mag, 1:3 for PP mag without baby and outpatients
• Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, and CPN (GE) fetal monitors
• EMR used is Meditech / CPN
• 13-week assignment on a 7A-7P day shift schedule
• Self-scheduling model used by the unit

Requirements

• Active KS or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital L&D RN experience required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• ACLS certification required
• AWHONN (Intermediate or Advanced) or NCCEFM fetal monitoring certification required
• NRP must be Advanced 9th Edition
• Circulating C-section experience preferred
• High-risk LDR experience preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Perform labor and delivery nursing care including circulating for C-sections and inductions
• Assist with procedures such as AROM, IUPC, DFM, and Doppler monitoring
• Follow unit oxytocin policy
• Work within a team nursing approach where staff support one another
• Join a unit with many tenured nurses averaging 20-40 years of experience
• Benefit from a new OB Hospitalist program launched in April providing attending support to triage nurses and the residency program
• Strong, supportive leadership team willing to work the floor when needed
