Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 14-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and the ability to circulate C-sections.

Details

• Family Birthing Center unit with 13 L&D beds and 9 Mother Baby beds, plus 2 OR suites
• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Patient ratios of 1:2 for laboring patients and 1:4 for postpartum patients
• Cerner EMR used
• Charge nurse takes patients when necessary; no nurse aides on unit
• Unit averages 90-100 births per month, including standard labor and high-risk cases
• OB physicians and anesthesia in-house 24/7, with RT and pharmacy also available 24/7
• First to float, with float assignments to Mother Baby or Level 1 nursery for experienced travelers
• No call requirements for travelers
• Holiday coverage rotates with core staff; travelers work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Must be able to circulate C-sections
• Two supervisor/peer references required, one within 12 months and one within 3 years of employment
• Copy of driver's license required at submission to validate legal name matches government-issued ID

Additional Information

• Triage OB patients 20 weeks or greater; patients under 20 weeks are evaluated in the ER
• Scrubs provided by facility
• 2-3 shifts of floor-specific orientation depending on skill set
• Extra shifts available beyond scheduled hours
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI and Dignity, within the past year
• Candidates previously employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
