Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery Charge – Anchorage, AK 99508

Start Date: October 2026

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30), with every other weekend required. Guaranteed 60 hours per two-week period. This is a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit averaging 7 deliveries daily, with up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases. OB Triage averages 4-5 third trimester testing patients daily.

Highlights:

• Charge Nurse role in a high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit at a Magnet-designated Level II Trauma Center
• Work in a comprehensive unit with 10 OB Triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
• 13 or 26-week assignment available at Alaska's premier healthcare facility
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Free parking and scrubs provided
• First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience

Requirements:

• Active Alaska RN license required (pending licenses accepted for submission, but license must be in hand for offer)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
• Previous Charge Nurse experience required or willingness to train as charge
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRP
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declination not accepted)
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Ability to float to similar units as needed
