Registered Nurse - Maternal Child Health
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in Maternal Child Health is responsible for the provision of direct patient care within the Maternal Child Health department. This position works collaboratively with unit leadership and adheres to the nursing practices outlined by governing bodies such as AWONN, ACOG, NNA, and AORN. The role involves comprehensive assessment and care planning to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and families, addressing a range of needs from uncomplicated to highly complex.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to make appropriate clinical decisions and prioritize clinical events.
- Implement technical nursing skills required for effective patient care.
- Act as a resource to peers and engage patients and families in establishing care goals.
- Collaborate with CMC health team members to facilitate multidisciplinary interventions.
- Provide labor and delivery care, with postpartum experience preferred.
- Participate in floating assignments to other departments as needed.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with a schedule from 06:45 AM to 06:45 PM. Weekend shifts may be required.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current RN license.
- Labor and Delivery experience required; postpartum experience preferred.
- Mandatory certifications including MMR, Hepatitis B, Tdap, TB test, and others as specified for onboarding.
- Assessment completion within CMC policies and procedures.
