Registered Nurse - Maternity Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

AM Shift: 07:00 – 19:30, 3 × 12 hour shifts, totaling 36 hours per week. Must be available for at least 1-2 weekends per month.

Job Description

The Maternity Unit offers comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care to mothers, newborns, and families throughout the childbirth experience. This family-centered environment promotes patient safety, education, and positive birth experiences through collaboration among nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address the physical, emotional, and educational needs of families.
• Float to Labor & Delivery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as required.
• Promote patient safety and effective communication with patients and families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 1 year of nursing experience in maternity care.
• Experience with postpartum care, baby care, and antepartum care including monitoring.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications.
• Fetal monitoring experience is required (not necessarily certified).
