Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: South Lake Tahoe, California – situated at nearly 6,200 feet above sea level in a beautiful mountain community

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM start time, 36 guaranteed hours per week. 89-day assignment through January 9, 2027.

Highlights:

• Work in an 8-bed perinatal unit with approximately 300 births annually in a Level III Trauma Center
• Comprehensive perinatal nursing role including pre-labor/triage, delivery, postpartum, and nursery care
• Care for high-risk patients including preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and multiples (twins)
• Autonomous practice environment with RN providing independent care during nights and weekends
• Opportunity to work in a non-profit community health system serving both residents and visitors to Lake Tahoe
• Training provided in nursery and lactation skills; ideal for self-starters who are adaptable and open to coaching

Requirements:

• Current California Registered Nurse license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required; 5+ years preferred
• Current certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN or NCC accepted)
• STABLE certification preferred
• Significant neonatal resuscitation experience required
• Ability to independently provide care and attend cesarean sections
• Proficiency with electronic medical record documentation
• Completion of comprehensive credentialing requirements including background check, drug screening, immunizations, and competency assessments
• Awareness that an oral swab for THC metabolites will be conducted on day one
