Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2+ years of experience and NRP/ACLS/BLS certifications for weekend night shifts.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit, covering all aspects of LDRP including nursery and postpartum care
• Patient population includes antepartum, high risk antepartum, labor and delivery, and mother/baby care
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Preferred experience with Meditech charting system
• Weekend night shifts, Friday-Sunday, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Locals accepted at the same pay rate

Requirements

• Active RN license (AR or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips as needed
• Assist with high risk and vaginal deliveries, and circulate or scrub for C-sections
• Provide newborn care including APGAR scoring, newborn assessments, and discharge teaching to parents
• Support breastfeeding and lactation, and manage postpartum complications such as hemorrhage
• Utilize external and internal fetal monitoring, including IUPC placement and calibration
• Facility performs fewer than 100 births per month
