Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring SC or Compact RN licensure and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within the Labor and Delivery unit
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45p-7:15a
• Required to work every other weekend
• On-call responsibilities include two 12-hour shifts within a 6-week period
• Uses Epic for charting and Philips Intellispace for fetal monitoring
• Medications administered via Omnicell system
• Facility performs 200-300+ births per month

Requirements

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, NRP
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, STABLE
• Epic EMR experience required
• Comfort with couplet care or transition nursery preferred
• Experience with high-risk delivery assistance, C-section scrub/circulate, and fetal monitoring preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
• Skilled in fetal monitoring, IV therapy, and medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections, including scrub and circulating duties
• Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, newborn assessments, and discharge teaching
• Navy surgical scrubs provided by the facility
• Free parking available with pass distributed at start date
• During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• First-time travelers accepted for this position
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
• Candidates residing within 60 miles are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
• Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
